Four BSF jawans martyred in encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh

Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans have lost their lives in an encounter with Naxals in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. Two other personnel were injured in the encounter, which took place in Kanker district, police told PTI.

“One jawan of the 114 battalion of BSF died while two others sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out between the security forces and Naxals,” DIGP Anti Naxal Operation P Sundarraj told ANI. The news agency later updated the tweet and said that four BSF jawans had lost their lives in the encounter.

On March 31, three Naxals including a woman were arrested in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district while they were allegedly planning to plant bombs to target security personnel during the Lok Sabha polls, a police official said Sunday.
