Alia Bhatt on her Kalank character, being paired with Salman Khan in Inshallah and Hollywood venture

Alia Bhatt was only nine when she dreamed of acting in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. Years later, her dream came true with the film Inshallah, which stars Salman Khan. This pairing came as a surprise to Bollywood fans, as it is rather unusual. However, Alia told a portal that there was a reason for this interesting casting

In just seven years, Alia Bhatt has established herself as one of the most compelling performers from the current generation of Bollywood stars, and the actor says if she gets a good opportunity, she would like venture into Hollywood.

“Bhansali is a visionary. People are too quick to judge. There is a plan in place and a reason behind the [unusual] casting. I am thrilled to be working with Salman. Even I never thought this combination [working with Khan and Bhansali] is possible. It will be an intriguing journey and Salman is genuinely warm and kind. They are a magical duo together and I am blessed to be in it.”

Earlier, when Alia asked about the criticism she and Salman had received about the casting choices, she said, “I didn’t get any criticism. I think I got a lot of excitement. I think a speculation is also a form of excitement in a way and why shouldn’t there be speculation. There should be and at least I am not bothered by that and I don’t think Salman or Bhansali sir are bothered. I think this is a filmmaker who has given us very good films, he is someone who we all are very fond of and I think we should just trust him with his vision.”
