Telugu remake of Tamil crime drama ‘Naachiyaar’ stars Anushka Shetty

The director Bala’s ‘Naachiyaar’ is going to be remade in Telugu. The Telugu dubbing rights were bought for a Rs 90 lakh, the makers wanted to release a Telugu version of the movie.
Director Bala had suggested to make a remake. If rumours are to be believed Anushka Shetty is being considered to reprise Jyothika’s role of a ruthless cop. But as everyone knows Anushka is busy with a slew of films, it seems doubtful if she would give a nod to the movie. As per the reports, if the makers are unable to rope in Anushka to play the role, they may go ahead with dubbing the film in Telugu.
One of the finest actors in the film industry, Anushka is known for her heroine-centric roles, such as the ones she played in Arundathie, Bhagmathie and Rudramadevi. She began her career with the Telugu movie Super, which released in 2005 but it was Arundathie that shot her to instant fame four years later.
‘Bhaagamathie’ was the horror thriller movie where Anushka Shetty was last seen and it also did exceedingly well at the box-office — both domestic and overseas and went on to become one of the biggest hits in Telugu cinema this year. Anushka played the titular role and left her audience in awe of her performance and was directed by G.Ashok.
