To discuss an out of court settlement of the Ayodhya dispute case and coming out with statements, The All India Muslim Personal Law Board’s aamilah (working committee) has launched an investigation into Board member Maulana Salman Nadwi meeting Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The Hindu that the decision was taken after an argument between other Board members and Maulana Nadwi late on Friday night, said by an aamilah member, who did not wish to be identified.
The aamilah member said, adding that the aamilah consultations are closed-door events, “The investigating committee will comprise president Maulana Rabey Hasani Nadwi, general secretary Maulana Wali Rahmani, secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani and aamilah member Maulana Arshad Madani. It is difficult to say when the report will be presented. The members have to talk to Maulana Nadwi as well.”
On Friday, Board secretary Maulana Rahmani clarified that the cleric had met the Art of Living founder in his personal capacity. “The Board has nothing to do with this meeting,” he said.
